The war on Ukraine is causing terrible pain to millions of people. While conflict inflicts suffering on everyone, women and girls are particularly affected by its short and long-term effects. They are often forced to flee their homes, and expected to assume the role of main breadwinners, caregivers, and national rebuilders whilst experiencing trauma. Likewise, women, girls, as well as LGBTQI+ people can be victims of sexual assault and exploitation which are frequently used tools of war. In the long term, domestic violence can be further aggravated by armed conflict and trauma.
Despite the war, our three member organisations in the Ukraine still continue to provide their life-saving services. They give in-person, online and phone consultations, psychological, legal and medical support to women in dire need. They support women and girls to find safe routes to flee the country and find refugee to be free from violence. All this, while risking their own safety and lives.
Your donation will be used to:
- Support women in need with clothing, food, sanitary products, communication devices, emergency equipment; transportation and accomodation;
- Support the staff of women’s rights organisations in the Ukraine and neighbouring countries to continue providing their services to victims of violence and get support themselves (psychological, medical, logistical).
Our member organisations have been relentlessy supporting survivors of violence for over twenty years. Now they need our support!

All proceedings collected through this fundraising drive will go directly to the Ukrainian members of the WAVE Network as well as to WAVE members in neighbouring countries that face increased challenges (such as Poland, Moldova, Romania, etc.) to support their work and safety.

Helfen Sie uns das Leben von Frauen* und Kindern in der Ukraine zu retten!
Der Krieg in der Ukraine fügt Millionen von Menschen schreckliches Leid zu, dabei sind Frauen* und Kinder besonders von seinen kurz- und langfristigen Folgen betroffen. Frauen*, Mädchen und LGBTQI+ Personen sind oft einem erhöhten Risiko geschlechtsspezifischer und sexualisierter Gewalt ausgesetzt und werden oft Opfer von sexuellen Übergriffen und Ausbeutung, die häufig auch als Kriegswaffe eingesetzt wird. Langfristig kann auch häusliche Gewalt durch bewaffnete Konflikte und Traumata noch verschlimmert werden.
Trotz der schwierigen Situation, sind unsere drei Mitgliedsorganisationen noch immer vor Ort in der Ukraine tätig. Sie unterstützen Frauen* und ihre Kinder dabei, vor Krieg und geschlechtsspezifischer Gewalt zu fliehen, stellen ihnen Übernachtungsplätze zur Verfügung, geben online und telefonische Auskunft und helfen dadurch einen sicheren Ausweg zu finden. Das alles, während unsere Kolleginnen vor Ort selbst akut gefährdet sind und ihre eigene Sicherheit riskieren.
