PROTECT- Best Practice Assessment to
Prevent Homicide in High Risk Cases

WAVE took part in the call for Action Grants by the DAPHNE program and was granted the financial means to conduct “PROTECT - Good Practice in Preventing Serious Violence, Attempted Homicides, Including Crimes in the Name of honour, and in Protecting High Risk Victims of Gender Based Violence" in 2010. >>

Ad Hoc Committee on Preventing Violence against Women (CAHVIO)

The Committees task is to prepare a legally binding instrument to prevent and combat domestic violence including specific forms of violence against women, to protect and support the victims of such violence and to prosecute the perpetrators. The newly constituted Ad Hoc Committee on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence of the Council of Europe launched its website and gathered for the first time in spring 2009. >>

GenderWorks - Links between Poverty and Violence against Women

In 2008-09 three European partner organiza- tions Oxfam GB (UK), Lamoro (Italy) and WAVE (Austria) will together carry out a PROGRESS project funded by the European comission. >>

The Global Network of Women's Shelters

GNWS is the first ever network of international women’s shelters, and was founded by 23 persons, its main purpose being to unite the women’s shelters movement globally to end violence against women and their children. >>

European Protection Order - A Law Initiative

WAVE welcomes the initiative launched by the Spanish EU Presidency for a Europe-wide system of restraint orders and for EU legislation offering protection to women victims of gender-based violence across national borders. >>

Silent Witnesses Campaign
