Helsinki Declaration 2019

From November 26-27 2019, the conference Stop the backlash – Stop domestic violence was held in Helsinki and gathered WAVE’s president Pille Tsopp-Pagan, together with the general secretary of The Federation of Mother and child homes and Shelters Riitta Särkelä presented the Helsinki Declaration to the representatives of current and upcoming EU-Presidencies: Finland (Minister of foreign affairs Pekka Haavisto) and Croatia (State Secretary, Croatian Ministry for Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy, Marija Pletikosa).

The Federation of Mother and child homes and shelters along with Women against Violence Europe have outlined in the Helsinki Declaration the different commitments and provisions which are needed to overcome the effects of right wing backlash.
