Welcome to the WAVE 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Against Women 2023

Welcome to the inspiring journey of the WAVE 16 Days of Activism 2023 campaign, during which we celebrate “The Power of Diverse Feminist Activism: Shaping Equality and Women’s Human Rights”. Our program is a dynamic showcase of the myriad ways activism can advance women’s human rights and foster gender equality through legislative change, powerful advocacy, responsible media reporting, and access to vital information, the vast realm of artivism.

Our innovative program is designed to activate and empower not only WAVE members and WAVE Youth Ambassadors but also local organisations to engage in profound conversations about the various facets of activism in tackling violence against women and girls and domestic violence. We understand that true progress requires the collective strength of diverse voices and experiences, grounded in solidarity and a profound acknowledgement of each other’s lived realities. Together, we aim to embark on a transformative journey, amplifying the impact of feminist activism as a force for change.

Join us in the WAVE 16 Days of Activism 2023 campaign, and let’s be the #WAVEofChange, united in #ActivismForEquality. Together, we can shape a more equitable future for all.

Blooms of Resilience: A Femicide Memorial Workshop

In this unique workshop, we aim to remember the women who have tragically lost their lives due to femicide. Their stories will be brought to life by other women who refuse to reduce them to yet another femicide statistic. Instead, we’ll create a space in memoriam for these women who were resilient, vibrant, caring, brave, and full of life. Our goal is to harness the power of art activism and together, craft feminine silhouettes, carefully cutting them out and painting them with vibrant, uplifting colours. Through this creative process, we will remember and celebrate the lives of those who fell victim to femicide. Let’s come together, share stories, and create a space of empowerment and remembrance, fostering a community that stands against gender-based violence with love, compassion, and art. Register HERE!
